National Context
In the United States sexual assault in children is a huge issue even if it has decreased because it is not gone for good. There would be at least one child who is molested by someone else that the victim might know or is a stranger. According to the article called Child Maltreatment shows a graph that demonstrate a patterns that as years go by the number of victims that go through sexual assault increases and decreases. In the year of 1999 the number of victims that had went through child sex abuse increased until the year of 2006 which decreased. This means that the number of cases that were reported decreased which an assumption that could be made is that as years go by the number of victims would decreases until certain time that it would increased. This would show that in the future sexual assault in children would still be an issue, which would harm many children as they grow up. In this article also shows a data which shows the different stages of ages and children maltreated rate per 1,000 population. This data show that in the age of zero through three are the most like to get sexually abuse by someone. Children who are ages four through seven are the second stage which children can be sexually assaulted by someone else. This means that infants baby are those who are most likely to through sexual and are affected as they grow.
To think globally and act locally means to help each other,
many children who are being sexually abuse suffer throughout their life because
they constantly keep remembering. They are organizations that could help these
children and their parents some organization are free to attend but you can
also help and donate. If children who live with a non-biological father or
mother the biological mother should always be careful with their children
because they are more likely to go through sexual assault. Children are being
sexually abuse worldwide and some parents don't know what's going on with their
child because they are scare to let them know and these children as they grow
they get emotionally affected the have learning disabilities and some of them
have hate towards themselves and they feel guilty and become suicide. If we all
act locally and parents protect their children there would be no chance of a
sexual assault predator abuse of a young person.
Parents should
know that sexual assault is a big issue and i understand that it's
uncomfortable talking to a child who doesn't even know what's good or bad yet.
If children have to know this is because they should know that in this world
not everything is candy and rainbows a child should have a joyful and lovely
memory as a child. They are many local organizations that can help parents and
children it doesn't exactly have to be when a child has to be if a child was
sexual abuse but it can provide them with information that it could help to
protect their children. This issue has become worldwide and we can all help to
prevent this issue they are organizations that have helped children throughout
their life. I know that some people don’t believe that a child could not forget
what had happen to them but according to researchers it takes almost 5 years or
more for a child to let know what had happen to them.
“Three quarters of
children who are sexually abused do not tell anyone about it and many keep
their secret all their lives. Sexual abusers are more likely to be people we
know, and could well be people we care about; after all more than 8 out of 10
children who are sexually abused know their abuser” (www.parentsprotect.com).
This is something that not only happens in the US but it’s worldwide and most
parents know but they don’t do anything to protect their child. Parents could
prevent this by being informed and letting their child know and protect them
either if they live with a biological father/mother or a non-biological parent.
As a parent everyone wants the best for their child but to accomplish that they
need to first know how to protect their child and let them know what's going on
in the world they might be at a very young age but its better if the child
knows then later on that child has been affected.
